Series proposal - Gran Turismo SPORT.

Unread postby Pie4july » Sun Dec 31, 2017 9:58 am

Hello everyone, my name is Josh. I'm still pretty new to STA, only been competing in the Renault series on PC2.

I was curious if there was interest in running a series on GT SPORT. I have a few different ideas:

A GT 3/4 series. This series would comprise of two championships, a minor one and a major one. There would be two races a night each week. The first race will comprise of GT4 cars, which will run on (generally) smaller tracks, and be 15-20 minutes in length. The second race will comprise of GT3 cars, which will run on (generally) larger tracks, and be 45ish minutes in length with accelerated tire/fuel for pit stops.

OR

We could just do a GT3 series. If so, this series would choose both small and large tracks, and the race will be 60 minutes in length.

OR

Exactly the same thing, but for GT4.

I have chosen to stay away from GT1 and other classes because PD has spent a lot of time with the BOP on GT3/4. I don't know how reliable the other classes are, maybe someone else can shed light to this.

Why GT SPORT? I know what some of you think of this game, (simcade blah blah), I agree. However, GT SPORT is a fantastic game in its own way, and has a lot to offer. With the livery creator, we could do some really cool things like make team cars or something. Just a little something fun to add to the experience.

I haven't given it too much thought beyond this, but please feel free to add your ideas and let me know if you're interested. If we can garner up enough interest, I will bring it up to one of the league officials and see what's up.

Cheers!
Josh.

Possible race schedules. I've proposed a couple of schedules below, just to get people thinking about what could be

GT3/GT4 series

Week one:
GT3 main series: Autodrome Lago Maggiore - GP
GT4 supporting series: Brands Hatch Indy Circuit

Week two:
GT3 main series: Willow Springs International Raceway: Big Willow
GT4 supporting series: Northern Isle Speedway

Week three:
GT3 main series: Suzuka Circuit
GT4 supporting series: Suzuka Circuit East Course

Week four:
GT3 main series: Autodromo de Interlagos
GT4 supporting series: Kyoto Driving Park - Miyabi

Week five:
GT3 main series: Kyoto Driving Park - Yamagiwa+Miyabi
GT4 supporting series: Dragon Trail - Seaside

Week six:
GT3 main series: Mount Panorama Motor Racing Circuit
GT4 supporting series: Alsace - Village

Week five:
Mount Panorama Motor Racing Circuit

Week six:

Week eight:
Willow Springs - Big Willow

Week nine
